It began with a personal mission

CareMate didn’t start as a business idea. It was born from a real-life situation.

Over a decade ago, my grandmother experienced a fall in her backyard. Although she had a traditional home based personal alarm, she was just out of range of the base station. She lay on the ground for hours, unable to call for help.

This experience inspired my father to find a better way. He set out to create a solution that worked anywhere—not just at home.
That drive led to the design and development of the NEVERalone personal alarm, a device now trusted by thousands of Australians.

My Journey

For over 10 years, I worked within our family business (MCM Electronics), managing Customer Service and Accounts.

We supplied these devices to other safety companies and organisations. Through supporting them, I saw firsthand how this technology transformed lives.

But it wasn’t just business—it was personal. I have watched friends and loved ones face vulnerable moments where I wished I could have done more to help. Knowing that a simple, reliable alarm could have made a difference for them—just as it would have for my grandmother—became my motivation.

I launched CareMate with a specific goal: to bring this industry-leading technology directly to the people who need it most, combined with the dedicated service of a specialist Australian team.
