Monitoring Options
The SAFETYwatch has two monitoring options to choose from depending on your needs.
Option 1: Professional 24/7 Monitoring
24/7 Monitoring by Australia’s highest-graded A1 Monitoring Centre.
- How it works: The device sends an emergency alert signal with the type of event and your location to a top-graded A1 Monitoring Centre in Australia. The operator receives the message and immediately calls the device back which answers automatically in speaker mode so they can talk to you.
- Ideal for: Users whose family, friends, or carers work full-time, travel often, or aren't always available.
Option 2: Self-Monitoring
SMS Alerts go directly to your chosen emergency contacts (family, friends, carers).
- How it works: SMS Alerts go directly to your chosen contacts. The device sends an SMS text message with the type of event and your GPS location on Google Maps. Your contacts can then call the device, which answers automatically in speaker mode so they can talk to you.
- No App Required: Works on any mobile phone.
- Ideal for: Users who have a reliable network of family, friends, or neighbours who are available to respond in an emergency.
Eligible for the NDIS & Home Care Packages.
How The SAFETYwatch Solution Works
SOS Button and Fall Detection
- If the user is in distress and presses the emergency SOS button on the device, or a fall is detected, the device will play a voice prompt up to 3 times to warn the user prior to sending an alarm.
- If the user wishes to cancel this at all they can tap the SOS button to cancel it before the end of the 3rd voice prompt.
- After the 3rd voice prompt the device will send an emergency message to the 24/7 Monitoring Centre / preset contacts. The message will contain the type of event and the location of the User.
- The Monitoring Centre / any of the preset contacts can call the device and it will automatically answer handsfree on speaker mode.
- During the call they can assess the type of emergency and arrange the appropriate response.
Low Battery Alerts
For extra peace of mind, if the device's battery is at 20% the user will get a voice prompt. At 15% the user will get a voice prompt and a Low Battery message will also be sent to the Monitoring Centre / preset contacts automatically.
For High Risk Users
For people who could potentially be in dangerous situations like Domestic Violence victims and high risk lone workers such as staff who work in mental health, drug and alcohol and family violence, the device can be set up with different silent settings such as 1 or 2 way voice, no ringtone and voice prompts can be turned off.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The SAFETYwatch is a completely standalone device with its own 4G SIM card built-in. You do not need to own a mobile phone, have Wi-Fi, or use an app for it to work. It functions independently to keep you safe.
The watch features Automatic Fall Detection. If it senses a heavy fall followed by no movement, it will announce that a fall alert has been activated. It will then automatically activate the SOS sequence. It will send a message to the 2/7 Monitoring Centre or direct to your emergency contacts with the type of event (Fall) and your GPS location so help can be arranged immediately.
The SAFETYwatch uses the full Telstra 4G Mobile Network, which covers 99% of the Australian population. This ensures you have the best possible signal coverage whether you are at home, at the shops, or visiting family.
The SAFETYwatch is rated IP67 Water Resistant. It is designed to be worn in the shower where the risk of slipping is high. However, it should not be submerged in a bath or worn while swimming.
The battery typically lasts up to 45+ hours depending on usage and signal strength. We recommend building a routine of placing the watch on its charging dock next to your bed every night, just like a mobile phone, so it is fully charged for the day ahead.
No. We pre-program your emergency contacts and medical details for you before shipping. When it arrives, simply charge the device, and make a quick phone call to our Australian-based team to activate it.
- Professional Monitoring: You pay a monthly fee (currently $45) which covers the 24/7 monitoring service and all SIM card data/calls.
- Self-Monitoring: The first year of SIM data is included in your bundle price ($485). From the second year onwards, there is a small annual renewal fee ($90) to keep the SIM card active.
Yes. CareMate is a Registered NDIS Provider and our devices are fully eligible for funding under "Low Cost Assistive Technology." We can provide the necessary invoices for Plan Managers and HCP providers.
If you press the button by mistake, don't panic. The watch will play the voice prompt ("SOS Activated") 3 times and in this window of time you can cancel the alert by tapping the sos button. If the alert goes through, simply tell the operator or your contact that you are okay.
We strongly recommend installing a Key Safe Box at your front door. This allows you to store a spare key securely. In an emergency, the Monitoring Centre or your contacts can provide the code to ambulance or police services, allowing them to enter quickly without damaging your door/window.
